Description

Puck is estimated to be 10 months old and is very new to foster care. He’s a neutered male up to date on vaccines. Although he is currently a solo cat, he has previously lived with another cat. Here’s what his foster volunteers say about him after only a week in foster care:   1. How would you describe the cat's general personality?             Puck is cool, slient "hunter". Jumps high, loves to chase, enjoys outside views, and barely makes noise.   2. Does the cat enjoy being pet?             If yes, on what parts of its body does the cat like to be pet? Head and chin, but not all the time.             Are there any parts of its body that the cat does NOT like being touched? You can try to touch his back but definitely NOT his rump.   3. Does the cat come on your lap? No.   4. Does the cat like to be held? We have never tried this before. Seemly he does not like to be held.   5. Does the cat sleep in your bed? Sometimes, but only for a while. Puck usually sleep under the bed during daytime.   6. Does the cat seek your attention? Only when he wants to eat or play, and sometimes he plays with himself. 7. Does the cat like to play? YES.             What are the cat's favorite games and toys? He likes all the toys we bought. He enjoys wand toys, but what he loves the most are the toys with furs. He is also obsessed with feathers. He will lick them. He also likes to chase things so he sometimes will kick the toy away and chase it.   8. How vocal is the cat? What kinds of sounds does the cat make?             He barely makes sounds or "meow"s, even when he finishes his food and once mistakenly locked himself in the bathroom.             9. Does the cat scratch a scratcher? If no, please explain.             Yes. However, he not only scratches the scratcher but also our carpets, mattress, and carboard boxes. He really likes to scratch, and I think he likes carpets the best. 10. Does the cat always use the litter box? If no, please explain.             Yes.   11. What food and frequency is the cat currently eating?             We give him unlimited dry food of a mix of Wellness and Instinct, a 3oz wet food can each day, and three piece of Greenies Dental Treats and Instinct Mixers. Even though it is unlimitted, I think he only eats about 100g dry food each day.             Is the cat picky about food?             He is not a picky cat. Even though he is not that into chicken, he still eats. He like all kinds of food with fish, especially wet food. However, he does not eat cat grass, and he will not eat anything mixed with cat grass.             What is the cat's favorite treat?             He likes all kinds of lickable cat treat, and he likes Greenies as well.   12. What medication is the cat on, and how is it administered?             N/A. 13. Does the cat ever swat (claws in) at you? If so, under what circumstances?             Once. When I tried to pet him.             Has the cat ever scratched (claws out) you?             Once. When I tried to use a brush to brush him.             Does the cat ever nip (teeth without breaking skin) you?             Once. When I tried to pet his rump.             Has the cat ever bitten you (breaking skin)?             No.   14. To the best of your knowledge, how does the cat react to new people? Social? Fearful?             Puck will be a little fearful in the first few days. We did not see him until the second night. He will eat and drink in though, but only when people all fall asleep. He started getting closer to us on the third day, but he was still pretty alarmed with all sudden noises and moves.   15. If you have observed the cat with other animals, please describe how they get on?             N/A   16. Does that cat have any cute/quirky traits that aren’t covered by the previous questions?             Puck loves viewing the outside. He usually spends most of his night right next to the window. If you close the curtain, he will keep scratching it to ask you to open. 17. In your opinion, what is the best thing about the cat? Why should an adopter choose THIS cat to adopt?             He is so cute, and he is really fine looking. He does not break things and barely make noise that will interrupt your sleep. He is not picky for food or toys.   18. What are the cat's challenges and how have you found to best manage them?             He loves scratching and keeps scratching our mattress. We bought a new toy to see if this will help, but he seems not that interested with it. Currently, we just chase him away, but this will not be a long-time solution.
