Description
Hiccup wants your attention, all of it, and he’ll let you know if you’re falling short. He’s a friendly, affectionate boy who likes everyone he meets, with an ornery, playful streak that keeps life interesting. He appears to be good with other cats. He hasn’t met any dogs yet, so we can’t say how that would go.His full name is Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the III, after the hero of How to Train Your Dragon, and he earned it. He was found in the middle of the intersection in front of Walmart. Cars stopped, he bolted into the parking lot, went under a car, and refused to come out. Someone noticed something was wrong with his back leg and called us. When we got there, it was clear he wasn’t mean, just scared. He was in rough shape: very skinny, starving, dehydrated, and dealing with an upper respiratory infection, fleas, and ringworm. We took care of all of it. His vet found that his back leg is a birth defect (it even has a tiny paw pad on the end) and that he’s otherwise doing fine. He’s neutered, much healthier, and ready for a home of his own.One thing to know: when he’s getting attention, he uses his claws a little to hold on. He isn’t scratching, he’s just making sure you don’t leave. That makes him a bit much for a baby or toddler, but he’d be a great fit for someone who wants a cat who stays involved in everything they do.To apply for Hiccup, visit www.midwestpetrefuge.com/adoptIf you are interested in adopting this pet, please go to www.midwestpetrefuge.com/adopt to complete an application.
