Meet Mouse, a 2-year-old outgoing and sweet cat looking for his forever home!Mouse’s motto is to play hard and snuggle even harder! His abundance of energy is only boosted when he’s excited to see you and he can sometimes behave like an overgrown kitten with his zeal for play and zoomies. Along with chasing toys, one of Mouse’s preferred pastimes is to pretend to hide from you and pop out to chase you. He’s also on the larger side — large litterboxes are preferred, please! Once he’s gotten all his energy out, he will usually settle down for naptime. He loves to sit on your lap or chest while you read or watch TV.Mouse can be a high energy cat and is still working on his manners in regards to human companions. He can sometimes treat his humans like other feline friends and try to rough house or bite at hands and feet. He may need to be put in a short timeout away from humans when he gets too excited. Mouse is working hard to change this behavior and has made progress with his foster mom, but he is still learning! Due to his tendency to play rough, Mouse would not be a good fit for a household with children. His furever family should be patient and willing to work on this behavior with him — a human friend who has past experience with cats would be ideal for Mouse. Having daily dedicated playtime with Mouse will also encourage him to get his energy out in appropriate ways!Before coming to Pet Haven, Mouse was a stray who was at animal control for over a month before coming into foster care. He currently lives in a single family home with two adults and two resident cats who he largely lives separately from. He does seem to warm up to women faster than men and would appreciate a primary female caretaker. Mouse has realized he prefers human companionship over felines, and would do best in a home where he can be a solo cat.
