Sophie (gentle and sweet dilute calico)

Description

Sophie is a super gentle lady born in August 2019 who was surrendered to LCCR because of her owner's declining health.  Sophie wasn't exactly sure why she ended up in her foster home, keeping a watchful eye on her foster parents from the closet for a week before she decided maybe her new digs weren't too bad.  She enjoys spending her time sleeping in the sun on the windowsill cat bed, lounging on the human bed (she likes the pillows), or in the cute cardboard Aldi cat house that was donated to the rescue.    Sophie lights up when she sees the resident dog (a beagle) and will head butt him and trill.  She also gets excited when her foster parents enter the room, purring and rubbing against legs and hands.  She enjoys feather wand toys, hair ties, and plastic springs!   Sophie lived peacefully with her kitty sister for 6 years, but a stray cat showed up outside their house, and her sister took out her stress on Sophie by attacking her repeatedly.  As a result, Sophie is quite fearful of other cats and will strike out if they get too close.  Her foster parents are very respectful of Sophie's past, and she is the only cat in her foster room. Sophie has been trying to sneak out of her foster room into the hallway to go downstairs but is then spooked by the resident cats and runs back.  So her foster parents know Sophie is definitely ready for a home of her own. Sophie will make a great companion for a single person who wants love and attention, or she would be good for an easy going family with older kids who will treat her gently.  Sophie doesn't mind the presence of a dog, but she doesn't try to play with the foster dog.  She is currently living in a foster home in New Cumberland.  Sophie's adoption donation is $75, which includes age-appropriate vaccines, dewormer, flea treatment, Felv/FIV testing, microchip, and spay.   If you would like more information on Sophie, please contact Ellyn at lovingcarecatrescue@gmail.com.
