  If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to live with a four-pound drama queen who thinks she’s the star of her own reality show, meet ChaCha. She’s equal parts sweetheart, sass master, and tiny tyrant — a Chihuahua with a big attitude and an even bigger personality. Think Alanis Morissette’s “You Oughta Know” in dog form. She’s cute enough to get away with just about anything… and she knows it. ChaCha loves people — in fact, she thrives on attention — but there’s a catch. She only wants to be petted by the person holding her. That’s her royal decree. Anyone else can look, admire, and maybe earn a slight nod of approval… but touch her without permission? You’re risking a royal side-eye (or a squeak of protest). She’s mastered the art of selective affection like a true diva. But what really makes ChaCha stand out is her cat complex. She’s convinced she’s one of the kitties and spends her days napping, playing, and patrolling with our three resident cats. Whether she’s curled up on a sunny windowsill, stalking imaginary prey, or weaving through the cats’ legs like she belongs, ChaCha lives her best feline life every day. She’s got the cat strut, the cat ‘tude, and honestly? The cats have totally accepted her into their ranks. One thing’s for sure: life with ChaCha is never predictable. Some days she’s a snuggly lap dog who melts into your arms. Other days she’s the sassy little queen who demands space (but also your undivided attention). And sometimes? She’s zooming around the house with the cats, leaving us wondering who taught who. ChaCha may be small, but she’s packed with personality, opinions, and a heart full of love — on her terms, of course. Around here, we don’t call her the princess… she calls herself that. And honestly? She’s earned it. ChaCha does have a grade 2 luxating patella. She is not a candidate for surgery at this time, but a healthy diet, kept at a healthy weight, and supplements are needed for future care* Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe.
