Description
Drake is a handsome, well mannered boy who is looking for a fresh start. He is currently with one of our partner rescues in Louisiana and can come to NJ with an approved foster or adopter. Meet Drake: Certified Good Boy Just look at those ears! Drake is an adorable, short-legged, 25-pound lovebug who is believed to be a Pitty/Beagle mix—though with those stumpy little legs and one-of-a-kind face, we think he may be part cartoon character too. Around 3 years old and fully grown, Drake is the kind of dog who makes having a dog feel easy. He is friendly, playful, incredibly sweet, eager to please, and a great listener. He’s also crate trained, house trained, and walks beautifully on leash. Drake was adopted as a tiny 5-pound puppy, but recently returned when his family could no longer care for him. Naturally, he was a little confused when his whole world changed—but this resilient boy settled right into foster care and has shown everyone what a wonderful companion he is. He gets along great with other dogs and is pretty submissive around smaller dogs with big personalities. Most of all, Drake is ready for a true forever home—one where he can be loved, included, and never have to wonder where his people went. He’d be an especially wonderful match for a first-time pet owner looking for a happy, manageable, affectionate best friend. Drake is fixed, micro-chipped, and up to date on vaccines. His adoption donation is $500. Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home.
