Barney is a 4-year-old neutered male Border Collie/Aussie mix. Barney has been going to regular dog training sessions and is improving on his leash training and meeting new people. • Overwhelmed with kids• Dog social• Loves car rides• Fearful and nervous when meeting new people. Barney will supervised for introductions at shelter.Staff have been working with him on meeting new people and identifying his threshold—helping him stay engaged with his handler when he starts to feel unsure.Barney knows basic commands like sit and shake, Look at me, place, and down. He is very smart and loves the water!He’s looking for an experienced owner who understands herding breeds—someone who wants a loyal, intelligent companion and is willing to support him through fearful or overwhelming moments.
