RAGNAR*

Description

Meet Ragnar, the extra large German Shepherd. Ragnar came to the Shelter after his previous guardian was unable to continue caring for him. Ragnar is a bit overweight and would thrive with a guardian who will provide regular exercise and work with their vet to get him shedding some pounds in an appropriate manner. Ragnar previously lived with a chihuahua and did well. H Balls are his favorite and he loves to play fetch. He is still working on his stamina so adopters should be mindful of intense exercise while he is carrying extra weight. Ragnar knows “sit”, “stay” and “lay down”. Although a little nervous at first, Ragnar warms up and shows his playful, goofy side. Ragnar recently went on an overnight with a volunteer who reports: `He was an angel. He was so quiet throughout the whole note. He's definitely potty trained. He has been super easy to walk on loose leash. He bonded with the husband and greeted neighbors in a friendly manner. He has been one of the most chill dogs I've had!`Ragnar would thrive in an adoptive home with older, sturdy children. He previously lived with kids and can be a bit too exuberant when greeting and interacting.. which can be spooky for young children. Any children in the home are required to meet prior to adoption. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
