Hello there! I'm Pumba! Hakuna Matata-that's my motto! I'm a sweet and lovable chinchilla looking for my forever home, and I'm hoping to find my new family alongside my best friend, Timon. Timon and I are bonded, which means we're a package deal! We love having each other around and would be happiest in a home where we can stay together. I'm a very sweet boy, but I can be quick and a little tricky to catch and hold, so please keep that in mind when handling me. I love running, jumping, climbing, and playing in boxes. I'm always ready for my next little adventure! Could it be with you? ***CAGE AND ACCESSORIES NOT INCLUDED!*** Chinchillas can live 10-15 years, that's a long commitment! They require specialized care, and should be offered chinchilla pellets, hay, and wood they can chew on at all times. Hay mixes containing orchard grass, blue grass, timothy and alfalfa, make the best combination for a healthy chinchilla diet. Be sure the chinchilla's pellets are made for chinchillas (not made for other animal species such as rabbit or guinea pig). Be sure to keep your chinchilla in a location that does not get too warm, moist, or drafty. Their ideal housing temperature is between 50 and 60℉. Chinchillas can overheat very easily so keep temperature in mind. As for a cage, chinchilla's are larger than most pet rodents and are very active (especially at night) for this reason it is important that their cage includes multiple levels, ramps, perches, and platforms. It is suggested that you provide your chinchilla with a minimum of 2 cubic feet (per animal). Chinchillas should have a dust bath at least once per week to keep their natural oils in their fur from matting. The Adoption Center is open to meet me without an Adoption Hold, however you may need to wait for an adoption time to become available and I may already be adopted.
