Meet Aurora, the gray tiger. Aurora came to the Shelter as a stray so we don’t know much about her life before the Shelter. A good Samaritan had seen this cat around the apartment complex for a few months and was concerned about her well being. They brought her to the Shelter to find an adoptive home. Aurore can be a little nervous at first but warms up with time. A home with other cat-savvy animals may be a fit with a slow, thoughtful introduction. Aurora may do well as an indoor-outdoor cat after a period of acclimation (at least 30 days) to her new home. She may be just as happy to be safely indoors full time. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
