Description

Meet Bagel — The Breakfast Club’s Little Princess! Bagel and her siblings—Brioche, Bacon, and Butter—have come an incredibly long way. When they first arrived at the shelter, they were heartbreakingly young, scared, dirty, starving, and very sick with an upper respiratory infection. Their eyes were covered in goop and they were struggling to breathe. Because they were so young and sick in an overcrowded shelter, they were placed on the euthanasia list. Thankfully, a wonderful foster opened their home to these four babies, and we were able to rescue them just a couple of hours before they were scheduled to be euthanized. With time, care, and lots of love, these little survivors have transformed into healthy, happy kittens whose personalities are finally beginning to shine. And Bagel? She has always had a little bit of princess energy. When Bagel first arrived at her foster home, she was the spiciest of the whole Breakfast Club. She marched to the front of the carrier, stood in front of all her siblings, and hissed her tiny little heart out at everyone approaching. She was essentially saying, “You want to get to my siblings? You're going to have to go through ME.”But this brave little girl eventually realized that she was safe. She learned that the humans around her were there to love and care for her, and that big scary world wasn't quite so scary after all.Bagel is still the sassiest member of the group, but these days she mostly saves her sass for very important matters—like letting everyone know exactly how unacceptable it is when dinner is late. She can be shy when she encounters something new or something she thinks might be dangerous, but once she realizes the coast is clear, she'll slowly creep out and introduce herself. She has met lots of people, resident cats, and a small dog in her foster home and becomes more comfortable with everyone given a little time. And when Bagel decides it's time for cuddles? Prepare yourself for one very proper little lady. She loves sitting in a human lap with her two front paws resting delicately on your leg, as though she's attending a very important tea party. When she's sleepy, she'll happily curl up on your lap or chest, purring away like the tiny princess she is.Bagel would do well with gentle, respectful children who understand that she is still small and need to give her space while she gets comfortable in new surroundings.Bagel is still too young to be adopted as an only cat and needs a home with another young, playful kitty friend. She and her sister Brioche get along especially well and would make the sweetest Breakfast Club duo if adopted together! Bagel has already gone from a frightened little girl trying to protect her siblings to a beautiful, affectionate kitten learning that she is safe and loved. This little princess is ready for her happily ever after.
