Meet Bella   Bella is a smart, affectionate girl who wants nothing more than to be close to her person. She picked up new things fast in foster, learning her name, “wait,” and how to use a doggy door in just a couple of days. She walks nicely on a leash, is crate trained, never begs at mealtime, and waits patiently to be fed. When she’s not learning something new, she’s happiest sunbathing, riding in the car, chasing zoomies around the yard, or curling up with a favorite stuffie. Bella is a sensitive, nervous soul who startles easily at loud noises and takes some time to warm up to new people. She’ll bark and growl if someone gets too close too fast, but she has never lunged or shown any aggression. Give her space and patience and she’ll come around, cautiously sniffing, then settling in. She genuinely enjoys other dogs, especially seeing them out on walks.   She also gets attached quickly and can struggle with being left alone, crying at the door when her person is out of sight. Bella has been working with a trainer to build her confidence and ease her separation anxiety, and she’s making real progress, one small step and one positive interaction at a time. A canine playmate at home could go a long way toward easing that anxiety and giving her company when her person can’t be there.   We don’t know much about Bella’s past, and that’s okay. What matters is how she feels now and helping her see that the world isn’t as scary as it seems. Once she trusts you, she’s all in: an expert snuggler who sleeps through the night curled up right next to you. She just needs someone willing to help her get there with patience, structure, and trust.   Ideal home: patient, home often or able to work with her on alone time, ideally has one other dog to be her playmate, and a family ready to earn her trust and get a devoted best friend in return.   Apply to adopt Bella today!
