If you’re looking for a dog who is smart, sweet, loyal, easygoing, and just plain adorable… Chip might be your guy! Chip is a 7-month-old, 35-pound Lab/Border Collie/Hound mix with the softest coat, the cutest floppy ears, and a slender build. We expect he’ll fill out to around 50 pounds when he’s fully grown.Chip was the last puppy left all alone in a rural shelter after his littermates were gone. We honestly have no idea how this sweet boy was still waiting for a family because he is absolutely wonderful! He has settled into foster life beautifully and his foster family says he is super smart and learns quickly. He is housebroken, learning to use the dog door, and continuing to work on his indoor manners. He seems wise beyond his years and has this calm, loyal personality that makes him incredibly easy to love.Chip is happiest just being wherever his people are. He will happily flop down on the floor beside you while you go about your day—and apparently, if you’re taking a shower, he may decide he should be in there too! He gets along great with other dogs and is always ready to play if they are. He also does well with cats and kids, although we think he would do best with children over 5. He has picked up some Border Collie traits and will bark when a stranger approaches, but once you tell him they’re a friend, he settles right down.Chip did suffer a hairline fracture to his fibula, but it was repaired with a pin and he is making a full recovery. Honestly, you couldn’t ask for much more from a young dog. Chip is sweet, smart, affectionate, playful, loyal, and ready to find the family he was waiting for. Interested in adopting Chip?
