Skyla is in a NJ foster home and is ready to meet her potential adopters!   Meet Skyla! Skyla’s journey hasn’t been an easy one. She came to us heavily pregnant from a heartbreaking hoarding situation in South Jersey. In January, Skyla welcomed her two beautiful puppies, Cash and Chanel, into the world. She was an incredible mom — fiercely protective, deeply devoted, and full of quiet strength. Now that her puppies have grown and been adopted, it’s finally Skyla’s turn to find the love and security she deserves.   When Skyla first came to us, she was a very scared and skittish girl who was still learning that the world could be a safe place, but we have seen her make an incredible amount of progress in her foster home! She has blossomed into a sweet, affectionate, and goofy pup who just wants to be near her people or her canine buddies. She'll happily lay by your side all day while you work. Give her a belly rub and you'll see just how much love she has to give. Skyla sleeps soundly through the night and walks great on a leash. She has fully embraced beach days at the Jersey Shore and is content to sit close by her person and watch the sunset.   Skyla adores the company of other small dogs and absolutely lights up when she has a furry friend by her side. She's a submissive, gentle girl who would do best in a calm, quiet home with a family who will allow her to keep building confidence at her own pace. A resident dog to follow around would be a big bonus! Skyla would also appreciate a fenced yard. She uses pee pads in the house and eliminates in the yard, but isn't quite consistent yet about relieving herself on the leash — she is learning more every day, though!   She's still a little skittish in new situations and around unfamiliar people, but she continues to become more adaptable and confident each and every day as she is exposed to more things. We've seen her come so far out of her shell already, and the dog she's becoming is sweet, loyal, and full of love. Skyla just needs the right family to help her continue to bloom.   Skyla is up to date on all vaccines and is altered. Her adoption donation is $500.    Adopting an animal is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these animal have been through they deserve a loving, committed home.
