Description
This little guy was already about 3 months old when he was trapped. He and his sibling had been eating on someone's porch for a few weeks after showing up unexpectedly one day. They ate alongside the homeowner's cats and would race away when he saw the people. But once we trapped him, we discovered he actually liked to be pet and held and snuggled. He still hisses almost every time his foster mom approaches but he never runs away and is very easy to be picked up. With the first touch, he lifts his head to reach for more pets and has recently started giving his mom a nose nuzzle. He will need a patient owner and a quiet home. He does like other kitties unless they are immediately up in his face and then he gives them a gentle hiss of nervousness. Leaf should be started out in a small space (a bathroom often works well) without hiding places so he can get used to his new family without having to be dug out from beneath the couch. He can also get nervous enough to be afraid to venture across the house to the litter box and peeing in place under the couch so again the importantance of developing a relationship in a small space is there! He also needs a litter box close by in a quiet spot that he knows about so he feels comfortable enough to venture to it without any sudden movements by others. Complete the online adoption application to be the first to schedule a meet and greet with Leaf or visit him during our weekly cat adoption event at PetSmart, Bleachery Blvd on Saturday from 12-4pm.
