Doodlebug (NOT YET AVAILABLE)

Description

NOT YET TAKING APPLICATIONS – NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION NEW INTAKE 8/23/2026:  Doodlebug - male - approx 12 years old - 15.2 pounds - Dachshund Reason for intake:  We were contacted about dogs in need at animal control.  All of them in terrible shape.  Doodlebug is coughing, has goopy eyes and was loaded with blood and flea dirt from the overwhelming amount of fleas he must have had (animal control had already given him something to get rid of the fleas).  His nails were super long and his ears were loaded with black tar which is indicative of ear mites.  He was literally moaning as we cleaned his ears... it must have felt so good to him.  Once we took care of everything, he got a much needed bath which he absolutely loved!  We're not sure why he ended up at animal control and honestly, we don't even care.  We're just glad that we are able to help him.  He's heading to our vet the week of 8/24/2026!  Stay tuned! NOT TAKING APPLICATIONS:  Many dogs, particularly breeder, hoarder or senior dogs, can have multiple medical issues that need addressed.  Additionally, sometimes we take in young puppies requiring multiple vaccinations and/or quarantining.   In this particular case, we are not yet taking applications either due to age or possible illness or some other reason.  We will post when s(he) is ready for adoption.  In the interest of fairness, EARLY application submissions will NOT be considered.  Please note…  we cannot respond to messages/emails, etc., on dogs that are NOT yet available for adoption.  Please wait until the dog is available for adoption.  We will post him or her on Facebook in our Adoptable Dog Album pinned to the top of our page which you can follow at this link:  https://www.facebook.com/share/1B46skRWF5/ OR you can keep checking our website at www.roadtorescuela.org.  We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
