This sweet boy was found in Mississippi after being shot with buckshot. One of the pellets shattered three toes in his front right foot, and he spent three weeks in a stabilizer while he healed. Through it all, Henry never stopped being kind, trusting, and loving. Today, he still has a slight limp, but it doesn't slow him down one bit. In true Henry fashion, he's far more focused on enjoying life and loving everyone around him. And believe us when we say it... Henry is the sweetest baby ever! Despite everything he's been through, Henry greets each day with a happy heart and a wagging tail. He's currently living in a foster home with five other dogs and two cats, and he gets along wonderfully with everyone. In fact, one of his favorite games is playing chase with the cats! Because of his playful nature, we'd recommend dog-savvy cats who will enjoy having a canine friend to romp around with. Henry is also a perfect gentleman in the house. He's non-destructive, loves his toys, and is happy entertaining himself with a bone or stuffed toy before coming over for some love and attention. When it comes to adventures, Henry is always ready! He absolutely loves car rides and is a big fan of cruising around on the golf cart. If you're a golfer, Henry would be thrilled to ride shotgun, watching your swing and cheering you on from the cart. Unless otherwise indicated, all dogs adopted through Fetching Hearts have received the following before being available for adoption: Thorough veterinary examination. All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP Bordetella (Kennel Cough) Heartworm Test Fecal Test, Deworming Microchip Flea and Tick Prevention Heartworm Prevention. Spay/Neuter All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease. VETTING NOTE: Fetching Hearts Rescue completely vets our dogs thoroughly to the best of our knowledge based on communication with our Southern Vets. If anything is brought to our attention, we treat the dog. After adopting the dog, you will be responsible for following up with all vetting going forward. HEARTWORM NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 5-6 months from the last Heartworm treatment.
