Description

Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Judy finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 72 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails) .   Judy | 6-year-old Chihuahua mix | Your sweet little cuddle bug Judy is a sweet, friendly 11-pound Chihuahua mix who loves her people and is always happy to curl up for some cuddles. She is house trained, walks nicely on a leash, and does well being left alone for several hours after a little initial whining. She enjoys walks, playtime, squeaky toys, and lots of attention, but she also knows how to settle down and relax. Judy is food motivated and eager to learn, so she should pick up new commands quickly with some patient training. She can be a little barky and protective at times, and she is still working on play biting and polite treat-taking. She has had mixed experiences with other small dogs and would likely do best with slow, thoughtful introductions; she could also be perfectly happy as your one-and-only. She has been calm around the resident cat and has not shown much interest in it. Judy would do well in a home that can give her regular walks, playtime, enrichment, and plenty of love. A fenced yard would be a bonus but isn't necessary. She hasn't been around children yet, so older kids may be the better fit given her tendency to play bite. Like any dog adjusting to a new home, Judy may have a few accidents or need some time to settle into her new routine. Once she gets comfortable, Judy's affectionate, playful personality really shines. She took to her foster family almost immediately and loves being close to her people. Whether she's following you around the house, curling up under the covers, or asking for belly rubs, Judy is a little dog with a lot of love to give. With a family willing to give her some guidance, exercise, and attention, this sweet girl is ready to thrive.     If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $400. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking here . Please give us 72 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls.
