We shared Rufus’s story with you all the other day- sharing with you a picture of when he came to us. We got lots of advice about his appearance and what we should do for him - and while we appreciate it all, sincerely, we simply wanted you all to know his story! We are determined to rewrite his story from one of heartbreak —to one of hope, and these new pictures will perfectly depict how his story is changing right before our eyes! Rufus is beginning to trust. He loves crawling into our laps for hugs and gentle cuddles —his way of saying thank you for believing in him. He’s met other dogs in play groups and is tolerant and easy-going, though still not quite ready to romp and play. We’re hopeful that, with time, his playful side will blossom too.We are not 100% sure Rufus can hear perfectly, but he does give the absolute cutest head tilts when a treat is offered, and he takes them so delicately. He truly is a diamond in the rough—a gentle soul in need of patience and love. Rufus will do best in a calm, quiet home without small children as he continues his journey of learning to trust again. We do not know how he is with cats and have no way to test for this.????He will not be adopted to a home with small children.
