  Darling Darcy — 8 Pounds of Pure LoveIf you’ve ever wished for a tiny little companion who would happily go wherever you go, curl up in your arms, sleep beside you at night, and make you feel like the most important person in the world, you need to meet Darcy.Darcy is an 8-year-old, 8-pound long-haired Chihuahua with a beautiful face, a lively little spirit, and a heart that is absolutely overflowing with love. She is the kind of girl who wants to be close to her person and would be perfectly content snuggled in your arms or tucked beside you on the pillow at bedtime. She is affectionate without being boring, though—this little lady still has plenty of life and fun in her!Darcy LOVES going for car rides and thinks she should be included in your adventures whenever possible. She also has a hilarious little protective streak and will happily keep watch over the car while you pop inside to run an errand. She is a tiny dog with a surprisingly important job! ❤️What really makes Darcy happy is having a fenced yard. She didn’t have one in her previous home, and now that she has discovered the joy of safely running and exploring at her foster home, she absolutely loves it. Watching this little girl prance around the yard like a miniature pony, stopping to smell the grass and flowers and enjoy the fresh air, is pretty darn adorable. A securely fenced yard—even a small one—is important for her happiness.Darcy is still working on her house manners and is making progress with her foster family. With consistency, patience, and a person who can give her the attention she needs, we believe she will get there. She is a sweet girl who simply needs someone willing to help her succeed.Darcy had a frightening experience in her past when she was attacked by a large dog, and she remains very afraid of big dogs. She does well with other small dogs, but her forever family will need to make sure she is protected from large dogs.Darcy may be 8 years old, but she certainly hasn’t read the memo about slowing down! She is playful, curious, affectionate, and ready to enjoy the good life she deserves. Give this little girl a soft place to land, a fenced yard to explore, and a person to love, and she will give you something far more valuable in return—her whole heart.
