He is a little reserved at first but if with another dog that is socialized, he realizes that it’s ok to be happy and friendly. He gets along with males and females but we are going to say no cats. We think he would be ok with children but they have to be 10 yrs and older or he could knock a younger child down in his excitement. He does need to be with another dog, not be an only dog. Spurgeon has a great personality he just needs a home to let is shine through. If you are looking for one handsome dude, he’s it. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund’s back or get bitten.
