Lainey | 3.5 mos Alaskan Husky mix | Your little shadow Lainey is a sweet, playful 3.5-month-old Alaskan Husky mix who loves being around her people and will happily follow you wherever you go. She is affectionate and cuddly, but she is also a busy little puppy whose energy seems to last until yours runs out! She loves toys, treats, chewing bones, and playing in the water. She has a wonderful puppy personality and, of course, the bonus of great puppy breath. Lainey is doing well with other dogs and loves spending time with her people. She can be a little shy, but once she gets comfortable, her playful and affectionate personality comes out. She is still learning how to walk nicely on a leash and is making progress every time she goes out. She is also working on her house training and will whine when she needs to go outside. Lainey has been left alone for short periods in her crate and does best after a little initial whining. She is still learning that crate time means it's time to settle down, but she does eventually relax. Because she is a young puppy with plenty of energy, she needs supervision and appropriate outlets for chewing and play. She has been known to chew on rugs, so puppy-proofing will be important. Lainey already knows "come" and "sit" and is motivated by both food and toys, making her a fun puppy to train. She will need a family committed to continuing her training and helping her learn appropriate boundaries and manners. She has plenty of energy and enjoys being outside, so a securely fenced yard would be a great bonus. Lainey would do best with someone who is home much of the time and can give her the attention, exercise, structure, and mental stimulation a young, energetic puppy needs. She is going to be a wonderful companion for someone ready for the fun—and occasional chaos—of raising a puppy. As with any puppy, Lainey may have occasional accidents while she adjusts to her new home and continues working on her house training. If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives! A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you. The adoption fee for this pet is $475 (includes a $50 refundable puppy training deposit). Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking here. Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls.
