Description
RJ (Reggie) is an approx 2 y/o, 30#, fit, handsome, and squatty Corgi picked up as a stray in KS and never reclaimed. He may need some extra decompression time but is an overall friendly boy with an even temperament, albeit a bit anxious at times. He pulls some on a leash and likes walkies. He is dog friendly and untested with cats and kids although because he is so sweet natured, a respectful child 8+ with calm energy may be considered. At some point, someone had his vocal cords severed but in true Corgi fashion, Reggie said “Hold by my water dish” and uses that hoarse bark full throttle when excited, so an apartment situation is not a good fit. Reggie is mostly potty trained and improves every day. He will need close supervision and gentle reminders not to lift his leg indoors. He wears a belly band when unsupervised and at night as a helpful reminder. Reggie doesn’t love the crate and prefers to be near his person, so someone home more often than not would be the best fit for him, along with a fenced in yard. He can get pretty overstimulated and become the fun police in multi-dog situations so dog parks aren’t something we recommend, but rather a calm yet active home who will take him to a basic manners class and continue to work with him using positive reinforcement. Reggie can get a little stressed in new situations leading to barking, panting, Velcroing. He needs someone who will be patient and reassure him that he’s safe. If you are interested in meeting Reggie, you can complete the meet and greet application at https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms We require the application, home and reference check, and meet with everyone in the home. Reggie is recently neutered, utd on vaccs, hw-, and chipped. His adoption fee is $450 and we do not adopt outside Colorado.
