Whiskey is a 6yo male purebred Siberian Husky who is being surrendered by his owner in Memphis who can no longer keep him. Friendly, well-socialized, happy temperament, never meets a stranger! Great with other dogs. Fine with cats and living with 4 cats in his current home. Fine with kids. Medium energy level outside, quiet and well-mannered in the house. Crate trained and housebroken. Obeys basic commands. Obedience trained. Loves to be with his people. Good on a leash, rides great in the car. Healthy and fully vetted, current on shots, neutered, weighs about 45 pounds. AWESOME husky will make a wonderful companion (and jogging partner!) for an active family who loves the breed. Here’s a note from his owner: Whiskey likes being near the action (Velcro boy), loves outside time and walks, chasing cats though very gentle with them, and cuddling like a stuffed animal. Has selective hearing and will not respond if he’s uninterested in something. No problem with other dogs. No food aggression (he will eat like he’s never had food in his life). He will guard freshly bought food bag until it’s stored away, though not aggressive. Loves children! He’s crate trained, he likes the crate small and with solid sides. I’ll find him in it sleeping often. Only locked up when no one is in the house. I jokingly call it “prison” and he knows to go to it when asked. I rescued Whiskey from the streets of Memphis in 2023. He was a very sick stray, riddled with worms and many ailments. Because of that I took a gamble on him and did not turn him in to the shelter, they just would’ve put him down. At that time, he wasn’t fixed, chipped, and very emaciated. No one claimed him. Now he’s as healthy as a horse and incredibly gentle and affectionate. Now almost 3 years in, he’s ready to move on. The goal was never to keep him as a pet. Admittedly, I should have begun this process a year ago. But here we are now.
