General info
Description
Meet Boy, the 2 year old male pug. Boy came to the Shelter after his previous guardian was unable to continue caring for him. He was surrendered with a female shih tzu mix (who has since been adopted). Boy is a goofy, high energy boy who has been eager to interact with staff and volunteers since his arrival. He is exuberant when out and sometimes pulls on leash. Boy has lived with children ages 2 and 7 years old previously. He also had a feline friend who he would occasionally cuddle with. Any cats in the home should be introduced in a slow, thoughtful manner. Boy was primarily outdoors in his previous home so he may need some patience in the transition to indoor living for things such as potty training.Boy has some dental health needs that his next adopters should be mindful of. Any potential adopters can discuss this further with the clinic staff if they are interested in pursuing adoption. The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering âPawsitivity Bucksâ with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw! Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâs Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end âmeet and greetsâ (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâd like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
