Energy Level: Low-Medium Fence Required: No Dog's Location: Fuquay-Varina, NC About Pebbles’ Breed: Our best guess is that Pebbles is a Shih Tzu breed. Shih Tzus are affectionate, people‑oriented little companion dogs known for their sweet nature, soft coats, and calm, easygoing personalities. They were bred to be lap dogs, and most Shih Tzus adore relaxing close to their humans, enjoying gentle play, and soaking up attention. They’re typically friendly, adaptable, and thrive in homes where they can feel secure, loved, and part of the daily routine. Their ideal home is one that offers consistent companionship, a calm environment, and steady routines. Shih Tzus do wonderfully with families who enjoy cuddles, short walks, and quiet time together. They’re well‑suited for adults, seniors, or families with respectful children, and they flourish when given patient guidance, positive training, and regular grooming to keep their beautiful coats healthy. With love and stability, Shih Tzus become incredibly devoted, gentle companions. What to Love about Pebbles: Pebbles loves playing with toys, but she’s just as happy curled up on the couch, soaking in cuddles and warming your lap! Pebbles is friendly, easygoing, and does well with other dogs — though she can be a bit protective of her favorite toy. She enjoys being around the resident dogs in her foster home but prefers human interaction most of all. Her previous owner reported she was housebroken, and while she’s had a few accidents in foster, she was recently diagnosed with a mild UTI, so her potty habits are being monitored as she recovers. Pebbles is crate trained, has excellent house manners, and can be left out of her crate when needed. She loves sleeping in bed with her people and even has her own special blanket she adores! Pebbles thrives with companionship and would prefer a home where someone is around more often than not, as she doesn’t love being left alone for long. Pebbles is wonderful with people of all ages — including the two young children (ages 4–6) in her foster home — and she could do well with another calm dog or as an only pet. She hasn’t met cats yet but is open to a meet and greet. She’s great on leash, enjoys her neighborhood walks, and is ready to fit seamlessly into a loving family who can give her time to settle in, a consistent potty routine, and continued positive training! Pebbles’ Highlights: 3‑month‑old, 12‑lb hound puppy with classic floppy‑ear charm Playful backyard runner who loves toys, exploring, and zoomies Sweet, cuddly temperament and eager to grow up with her family Great with adults and likely wonderful with gentle children Food‑motivated learner — a fantastic candidate for training Doing well with potty and crate training but still learning the ropes Friendly with dogs and enjoys the senior pup in her foster home Open to meeting cats with a proper introduction Working on leash skills and loves her daily walks Social butterfly who greets other dogs with her tiny hound voice Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. to ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/.
