Ruby & Benji: A Lifetime of Love, Looking for One More Home Ruby and Benji have spent their entire lives together. They knew the comfort of the same loving home in Puerto Rico—the same people, the same routines, and, most importantly, each other. Sadly, due to illness, their owners could no longer care for them and made the heartbreaking decision to find them a new home where they could be safe and loved for the rest of their lives. Ruby, a sweet 13-year-old Golden Retriever mix weighing about 50 pounds, and Benji, an adorable 14-year-old Chihuahua mix weighing about 10 pounds, left behind everything they had ever known to make the journey from Puerto Rico to New Jersey. As if losing their home and their people wasn't difficult enough, Ruby and Benji had to make the trip separately. They arrived scared, confused, and undoubtedly wondering where the other one was. Thankfully, they are together again. ❤️ Ruby and Benji have been happily reunited in a foster home in New Jersey, where they can finally decompress, settle in, and find comfort in the familiar presence of the friend who has been beside them for their entire lives. Now we want to give them the ending their story deserves. We are searching for a very special home willing to open its heart to both Ruby and Benji and allow this bonded senior pair to spend their golden years together. They aren't asking for much—a comfortable place to sleep, gentle hands, good meals, peaceful days, and someone who will love them just as deeply as they have been loved all these years. They have already lost their home, their routine, and the people they knew. We don't want them to lose each other. Ruby and Benji still have love to give and memories to make. They are dog and kid friendly. Our greatest hope is that their next move will be their last—and that somewhere, a family is ready to give these two beautiful seniors the soft landing they deserve.
