Hi there! My name is Blaze, and I’m a handsome, fluffy, 11-year-old Creamsicle gentleman looking for a loving new home where I can spend my days relaxing, playing, and being close to my people. I may be a little older, but don’t let my age fool you. I have more energy than you might expect and still have plenty of playful spirit!I’m a big fan of knit balls, pointers, and hanging toys, and I especially enjoy batting away at my scratching post.When I’m not playing, you’ll probably find me lounging comfortably in my cat tree, keeping an eye on everything happening around me. But honestly, my favorite place is wherever my humans are. I’m happiest when I can be close to my people, and I absolutely love curling up on a human chest or shoulder for some quality cuddle time.Right now, I’m living with three other cats and a Labrador. I’m the newest member of the household, so I haven’t had tons of time to get to know new friends yet. I’ve had positive interactions with each of the cats, though, and I’m comfortable lounging around the dog. I think I’d enjoy having four-legged friends in my new home, especially gentle ones who might occasionally want to play with me.I do have hyperthyroidism, which is currently managed with methimazole given by mouth twice a day. My medication should keep my thyroid hormone levels in the normal range, and I’ll need a family who is committed to continuing my care. I’m very proud of my lustrous coat, and will need a bit of help keeping it free of mats with regular brushing. My dream home would give me plenty of room to roam, explore, nap, and play while also making sure I get lots of time with my people during the day (a work from home setup would be great!) and at night. I’m looking for a home where I can be part of the family and enjoy all the little things that make a cat happy. If you’re looking for a sweet, affectionate, playful older guy with plenty of personality left to share, I might just be your man. I’m Blaze, and I’m ready to find my forever family! One last thing you should know about me: I’m very interested in food! I’m clever enough to help myself if food is left where I can reach it, so my new family will want to keep food safely stored in a closed container.
