Opal is a 6 month female Lab mix who is a super sweet pup and so easy to fall in love with! She is the only female in her litter and a little smaller than her brothers, but her heart is just as big. Opal is very shy when she first meets someone, but she also lovvvvves belly rubs … so that’s a great way to become her friend. After a little time and some gentle affection, you will see her sweet personality shine. Opal is learning leash walking, and quickly figuring out that being on a leash means fun walks and exciting chances to explore! She also enjoys meeting other dogs along the way, and will often politely greet them through the fence in the sweetest way.  Opal recently had the chance to experience life in a home, doing very well during a short-term foster - another wonderful sign that this special girl is all ready for her forever family! There’s something especially heartwarming about watching a shy pup begin to trust and discover that the world can be a wonderful place. Spend a little time with Opal, earn her trust, and you may just find yourself a loyal best friend for life! The adoption fee covers the following: spay or neuter surgery; one-year rabies vaccine; feline or canine distemper vaccine; heartworm test (dogs) or combo (fiv/felv) test (cats); deworming; and microchip. The hours of operation are: Monday through Wednesday 12:30 pm till 4:30 pm; Thursday 12:30 pm till 6:00 pm; Friday 12:30 pm till 4:30 pm; Saturday 9:00 am till 4:00 pm. The Carroll County Animal Shelter will be closed the last Friday of every month for deep cleaning, staff training, and animal enrichment.
