Description
Location: Erlanger, KY AVAILABLE Jiffy Jiffy was found in a landfill as a small pup, with a peanut butter jar stuck on her head. Luckily she was trapped and rescued by a nice human and is now living the good life! Since Jiffy didn’t have any human interaction for the first few months of her life, it took a while for her to come out of her shell. She’s now approximately 4.5mo old and doing well! She has done AMAZING with potty training and crate training. LOVES other dogs. Lives with children in her foster home and is great with them (but is still in her very bitey phase of puppyhood). She also lives with a cat and although she shows some interest in him, generally ignores him. Jiffy is a very timid pup. She lays down flat when leashed because leaving the yard is VERY stressful for her. It’s taken her a few months to become confident and comfortable in her foster home and yard, the same is to be expected of a new adoptive home. Having a confident, well mannered resident dog in her new home will make the transition a lot easier for Jiffy. She currently relies a lot on the resident dog in her foster home to help her feel safe and happy. Jiffy may never be a super confident “out and about” dog, she’s more of a stay at home and hang out kind of gal. She loves to play and run with other dogs, she enjoys following her foster mom around and getting lots of well deserved belly rubs. She spends most of her day chasing her foster brother around and snuggling on the couch. She loves to chew on a bone, which also helps occupy her puppy teeth and keep her out of mischief. Once Jiffy has established some trust and confidence in her surroundings, she lets loose and is the most ornery, bouncy little cattle pup. Jiffy has so much love to give and is the sweetest girl. She has been a favorite in her foster home. She will need LOTS of patience, training and time to try new things. Her foster mom works with her a lot on nail trims, car rides and being brave enough to leave home but she still has a ways to go in those departments. Long story short- jiffy is a dog that requires an experienced dog owner (breed specific is a huge plus). A fenced in yard is also required for jiffy’s forever home, due to jiffy’s lack of confidence on a leash. And a confident resident dog is highly recommended, as she is a better dog when she has a buddy to lean on and help her build her confidence. She is up to date on vaccines and and preventatives and will be adopted out with a spay contract. Jiffy’s foster mom is more than happy to answer any questions about her, contact her at haleykeslar@gmail.com . My first choice for applicants will be those local to the foster home in Ohio/Kentucky. Jiffy needs meet and greets with applicants prior to going home with them and long transports are also not in her best interest. Complete an Application: https://www.acdra.org/adoption-application
