Adoption fee: $800 Meet Trinity: The One You’ve Been Waiting For Forget the red pill and the blue pill—the only choice you need to make is whether there’s room on your lap for Trinity! This 10–12 month old, 11 pound Cairn Terrier mix is a gentle little companion with a non-shedding coat and a heart full of love for the people she trusts. A Quiet Little Lovebug When Trinity met our volunteers at the shelter, it was like she knew they were her ticket out of there. She greeted them with full-body-wags and wanted to climb right into their laps! She was a bit shy during her first couple of days in foster care, but once she realized she was safe, her sweet personality began to emerge. Her perfect afternoon involves curling up beside her person, collecting cuddles, and enjoying the comfort of simply being together. Toys, fetch, and high-energy games haven’t captured her interest yet. Trinity would much rather be showered with attention than chase a ball across the room. She also isn’t especially treat-motivated—affection is the real way to her heart. Trinity’s Daily Matrix Trinity begins her day around 6:30 a.m. with a trip outside, followed by breakfast. She enjoys her kibble mixed with canned food and then heads out for a one-mile neighborhood walk. She walks nicely on leash, maintaining a steady pace with the occasional pause to investigate an interesting smell. She has shown little interest in dogs passing by and continues on her way without much fuss. During the day, Trinity is taken outside every few hours, though she generally does not need frequent potty breaks. She receives dinner between 5:00 and 5:30 p.m., has one final trip outside around 10:00 p.m., and then sleeps soundly through the night. A Polite Houseguest Trinity is house-trained and has had only two accidents while adjusting to different foster homes. She has not been trained to use a doggie door. She has also been wonderfully respectful indoors. Trinity has not shown destructive chewing, digging, or excessive barking. Her calm personality and small size could make her a lovely choice for an apartment, condo, or house. Dogs, Cats, and Kids Trinity currently lives with an 11-year-old, 18-pound female terrier. The two dogs don’t play together, but they coexist peacefully and comfortably. At the shelter, she lived in a room with several other dogs and got along with all of them. While she has not met a cat yet, her gentle nature suggests she may be okay with a feline in the home. She has not yet spent time with children. Because she is gentle and sweet, a home with respectful children may be considered, provided everyone understands that she can be shy initially and should be allowed to build trust at her own pace. Her Ideal Match Trinity becomes deeply attached to her people and wants to be wherever they are. She would thrive with adopters who can offer plenty of companionship while patiently helping her build confidence when left alone. She isn't destructive; she'll just whine softly before settling down. She isn’t looking for an action-packed lifestyle—she is looking for someone who wants a devoted little lap dog and has plenty of affection to share. Because Trinity’s coat is non-shedding, she will need regular brushing and professional grooming to keep it healthy and comfortable. Sweet, calm, house-trained, and delightfully cuddly, Trinity is ready to leave the Matrix behind and discover what it feels like to be truly home.
