General info
Description
Hatch Date: 2024 Little (female) and Blackie (male) are a sweet, bonded pair of 2.5-year-old Green-Cheek Conures looking for their forever home together. They are inseparable and truly enjoy each other’s company. In their foster home, they have been introduced to a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, with kale, carrots, apples, and blueberries among their favorites. They have also happily accepted pellets and are enjoying them. They spend most of the day out of their cages, coming and going as they please, and they love exploring the foster family’s home, especially the kitchen. They occasionally land on someone’s head and, with time, patience, and continued interaction, have wonderful potential to become very friendly and trusting companions. They are not hand-tamed yet, but they are comfortable around people and are not fearful. They currently live in a home with young children and have shown no aggression toward adults or kids. They have also previously lived with other birds, cats, and dogs and are accustomed to a busy household environment. Little and Blackie can say a few words and absolutely love water and showers—they simply cannot resist them! These two are a happy, loving pair with wonderful personalities and would thrive in a forever home that will keep them together, provide plenty of out-of-cage time, and allow them to continue building trust at their own pace. Little and Blackie have been disease tested for PBFD and Chlamydia. Little & Blackie are being fostered in Branchburg, NJ and will require at least 2 in-person visits before adoption. We do not ship our birds. For the Love of Birds is a network of dedicated foster homes throughout NJ and Eastern PA. As our adoptable birds are living in private volunteer homes, we only allow approved adopters to make the required visits. f interested in adopting Little & Blackie, please visit our website ftlob.rescuegroups.org.
