If you've ever wished your cat would greet you at the door after a long day, carry on little conversations with you, and keep you company while you relax at home, I think we'll get along just fine. I'm a confident, expressive girl who isn't shy about sharing my opinions. I'll happily meow to welcome you home, respond when you call my name, and let you know exactly when I'm ready for attention—or when I've decided our brushing session is over. I appreciate someone who listens to what I'm telling them, and in return you'll have a wonderful companion who communicates in her own adorable way. My favorite thing in the world? Butt scratches! Give me a good scratch above my tail and I'll reward you with my very best "elevator butt," lifting my backside as high as it will go. I also love rubbing against your legs, weaving around corners, and burying my head into your hand to ask for affection. Like many cats, I need a little time to settle into a new home. I may hide or seem unsure at first, but once I realize I'm safe, my curiosity takes over. Before long, I'm exploring my surroundings, claiming my favorite perch on the corner of the bed, and spending hours watching the world go by from the window. There's always something interesting happening outside! I'm also a big fan of being brushed—as long as you pay attention to my signals. I'll let you know when I've had enough, and I appreciate people who respect my boundaries. As I've grown comfortable in my foster home, I've even started showing off my belly as a sign of trust... but let's admire it from a distance. It's for looking, not touching! I came to Give Me Shelter after my previous family welcomed a new baby. The change in the household was stressful for me, and everyone agreed I'd be happiest in a calm, predictable home where I can truly relax again. I'm looking for a quiet home where I can be your one and only feline companion. I enjoy having my people all to myself and will thrive as the only cat in the household.
