Meet Big Cheese, the 2 year old black cat! Like his name suggests, Big Cheese likes to be in charge! He prefers interaction on his own terms and definitely does not like when other furry friends take the spotlight. Big Cheese would do well in a home where he is a solo pet, as he has shown he does not like cats, dogs, or guinea pigs. Big Cheese may be the man in charge but he still appreciates some head scritches from time to time. If you are looking for a handsome and independent black cat to be your companion, come say hi to our very own Big Cheese. Big Cheese’s adoption fee is reduced by $20 thanks to the Bogey Fund - a fund that draws adopter's eyes towards often overlooked black cats in the Shelter waiting for the purrfect home.Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
