Pecan

Description

Pecan is an absolute sweetheart with two great loves in life: food and affection! This lovable boy is happiest when he’s getting snacks, cuddles, or ideally both at the same time. He’s learning commands like “come” and “stop” and is making progress every day. Pecan gets along well with adults and other dogs, but he’s still unsure around children and tends to avoid them because they make him nervous. He is leash trained, willing to rest in a crate for short periods, and currently working on house training. Because he experiences separation anxiety, he would do best in a home where someone is around most of the time. A dog door would be a huge bonus for him, too. Pecan came from a hoarding situation, so normal home life is still very new to him. Everything from routines to household sounds can take time to understand. He will need a patient, compassionate family willing to let him adjust at his own pace and show him what safety and love feel like. With kindness, consistency, and time, Pecan is going to blossom into an incredibly loyal and loving companion.
