Meet Melon – A Diva Who Knows What She Wants Melon is a 7-year-old Pug who weighs 16 pounds and is a true people-loving diva. She is house trained and loves nothing more than being with her favorite humans. If you're home, she wants to be right there with you. If you're giving her attention, she wants more. And honestly, she's pretty adorable about it. Melon enjoys walks and has done well with other small dogs, although she can be a little pushy and play rough. Her foster mom thinks she'd be happiest as the center of attention in a quiet home without young children or other dogs. She was reportedly good with kids in her previous home, but hasn't been around them in our care. Don't expect Melon to entertain herself with toys or chews—she tested them all and basically said, "No thanks, I'd rather have cuddles." She's very food motivated and is just beginning to learn some basic commands. Her foster mom says Melon is a real diva, but a sweetie at heart. She knows what she wants and isn't shy about letting you know! Give this little princess a calm home where she can settle in and soak up all the love, and she'll happily be your devoted shadow. If you're looking for a sweet, affectionate companion who wants nothing more than to be loved and adored, Melon is ready to be your one and only. Her minimum adoption fee is $300 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
