Meet sweet Cheerio! Cheerio recently had surgery to correct an eyelid condition called entropion, and he is not recovering like a champ! For the next couple weeks, Cheerio will need a little extra TLC while his right eye continues to heal. He'll need his prescribed eye ointment 2-3 times a day and should wear his e-collar through 08/20/2026 to keep him from rubbing or scratching his eye. His sutures are absorbable, so no suture removal will be needed. His eye may remain a little hazy as it heals, and while we expect this to improve, some permanent scarring may remain. His new family should keep a close eye on him for any increased squinting, light sensitivity, redness, or discharge and contact FWACC if they have any concerns during his recovery. Once Cheerio is all healed up, he'll just need a loving family ready to give this sweet boy all the care, love, and affection he deserves!
