*** Check Out My Video Album Below! *** Meet Jake, a sweet Great Pyrenees who came to us from an animal shelter in Tennessee and is currently in boarding while he waits for a foster or forever home! We don't know his house-training status yet since he's in boarding, but he keeps a clean kennel, which tells us he'll likely pick it up quickly. He is leash trained, and fairly laid back - he seems perfectly happy just laying around in the shade. A 5-foot fence should do the trick to keep him contained, as he hasn't shown any interest in going over one. Jake seems to be ok with cats, as he has met the outdoor cats without issue. With other dogs, he lays down and wags his tail at the small ones when they come near, can be a bit selective with males, and is good with the ladies! He does well meeting new people who come on the property, did great with everyone at the vet, and seems to like every person he meets. He hasn't been around kids, but his foster feels he'd be ok with older kids. Jake has no interest in digging and isn't much of a barker. He enjoys being brushed, does ok on car rides, and would probably like toys since he likes to find sticks and toss them around. His favorite snack is dehydrated liver treats. What makes him extra special is how silly he gets when playing with sticks and initiating play with other dogs. Jake would thrive in just about any home - he's very laid back and could enjoy having a female dog companion, or do just fine as an only pet. His best qualities really shine through in his ability to adjust to different situations: his foster says he's so friendly and outgoing with everyone, yet still very chill, doesn't jump, and just loves attention. Fees: Adoption fees are determined on a sliding scale depending on age, location and transport. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee. Fees for dogs adopted locally start at $400 and can range up to $700 for puppies under six months. Puppies placed on spay/neuter contracts receive $100 back when the dog is spayed or neutered.
