Description
ADULT ONLY HOME WITH CONFIDENT RESIDENT DOG UNDER 30 POUNDSAlfie comes into rescue with a past not suitable for a dog as he was rescued from a hoarding situation. Alfie has limited exposure to life on the outside as he has been on the inside looking out. Moving forward, Alfie is not looking back. Alfie is a one year, four-month-old Havanese mix weighing around 15 pounds. He has made progress in adjusting to life with the help of some tender loving care. He will need time to adjust with new people and new surroundings. He is making strides in learning what it is like to be well loved and cared for. He will thrive with another smaller, confident dog up to 30 pounds in the home to help guide him. It is not known if he has been around cats since he has had no exposure since coming into rescue. Until Alfie is comfortable with his people, he does not like to be touched and may hide if people reach their hand out to him. Given patience, he will come and seek you out. Once he develops a bond and feels safe, he's down for some limited cuddles and he loves to play.He has average energy and loves to hang outside in the sun or play with his toys on his bed.Alfie is house trained and is not destructive when left alone in the home. He should not be crated as his prior life the hoarding environment has left him terrified of the crate. This little sweetheart deserves a family that will love and care for him for the rest of his days. His second chance is out there. Are you the family Alfie has been looking for?* When considering adoption, keep in mind that dogs thrive on structure and routine. They adjust much better when their owners are committed to providing consistency and stability. The adoption fee for Alfie is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees.
