Zoom (A143016) is a 6-year-old American Pitbull Terrier who weighed 73.8 pounds on intake! 08/06/26 This happy guy is Zoom! Zoom, Zoom, Zoom as the kids would say! He was surrendered to the shelter due to no fault of his own, but because of a family emergency. He was described as outgoing, friendly, and affectionate! We have found that he LOVES having his booty scratched and smiles the biggest of smiles! Zoom was stated to be kennel trained and is housebroken (however, he has a small bladder and does require being let outside frequently). He was also noted to tinkle when he gets excited. Zoom grew up in a home with lots of kiddos ranging from infants to teenagers. He was said to do well with all, but is a big boy and can sometimes have the bowling ball effect. However, he was said to respond very well when his owner would tell him to be gentle. He also spent his juvenile years in a home with dogs, but was said to not have had much exposure in the past 2 years. It is important that slow, safe, and controlled introductions are being made to help set him up for success. Zoom arrived at the shelter with skin issues and was seen by the shelter vet. He was started on a treatment plan and his skin is recovering very nicely. It was stated that this skin issue is new since he has been housed outside for the past 3 months. It is recommended that his next owner finishes out the treatment and rechecks with their own vet on 8/19. If you are interested in meeting Zoom, please let us know!
