Description

Meatloaf is a 3-year-old female Labrador Retriever mix who is proof that sometimes the shyest dogs have the biggest hearts. She’s currently part of the shelter’s Shy Dog Program and has made great progress learning that people, pets, and the world outside her kennel aren’t so scary after all. Once Meatloaf is out and about, her personality really starts to shine. She loves sniffing and exploring, but she’d much rather do it with her favorite people nearby. She’s friendly, leans right in for affection, and will happily flop over for belly rubs. She also enjoys playing with toys, so there’s definitely a playful side hiding underneath that shy-girl exterior.Meatloaf knows “sit,” comes when called, and takes treats gently. She has plenty of good manners and seems to be discovering that being brave can come with some pretty great rewards. If you’re looking for a sweet, playful girl who may need a little time to blossom but rewards you with affection, belly rubs, and a whole lot of heart, Meatloaf could be your girl. Give her some patience, a little encouragement, and plenty of love, and you just might get to watch one very special shy dog come completely out of her shell.
