Meet Buckwheat!Buckwheat is a 2-year-old, 42-pound terrier mix who is equal parts sweet, silly, and affectionate. He took to his foster mom immediately and loves nothing more than being with his person—personal space is apparently not part of his vocabulary! He loves attention, giving kisses, playing ball, and chewing on his favorite toys.  He has an adorably scruffy coat that will require some occasional grooming.Buckwheat can be nervous around new people and new things, so he needs a patient family who will give him time to feel comfortable. His crate is his safe space, and he has been doing wonderfully with crate training, sleeping quietly through the night and keeping his crate clean. He’s also very food motivated, which makes training much easier! He’s still working on his potty routine and building confidence in the world around him.Buckwheat will do best in a fenced in yard, because he loves to run free and play catch, and he is still working on his recall skills.  He would also love another confident friendly dog who would appreciate his goofball energy and show him the ropes.   Buckwheat may take a little time to warm up, but once he decides you’re his person, you’ll have a loving, playful little shadow who will happily follow you everywhere.   He would do best with older children, as unpredictable movements may be a bit much for him. While cats are an unknown at this time, Buckwheat would most likely enjoy chasing them.  Buckwheat is neutered, microchipped and up to date on his vaccinations.   If you’re looking for a sweet, goofy companion with lots of love to give, Buckwheat might be your guy!
