Description

This pup will be available to meet starting on 8/15From foster:She got along with my dog very well. She played with him a little but her human is her main focus. She lays quietly in her bed while I watch tv or work on the computer. When I get up to do something or go somewhere she comes alive and becomes turbo charged.   We never had any accidents in the house. She learned that she doesn’t get to come inside until she does her business outside. She hates getting her feet wet, so she sometimes did her business on my deck so she wouldn’t have to go into the wet grass.   Though she did very well in her crate, I allowed her to sleep in a bed on the floor in my bedroom. It’s rare that I allow any fosters to sleep in my room but I wanted her in my room while she was recovering from her surgery. Since she did so well, I let her continue. I put her in the crate whenever I would leave the house.   She loves car rides. She loves snuggles. She’s an incredibly easy dog. She does bark, however, when she sees anything that’s not a part of her pac. it’s a somewhat piercing and annoying bark. I was working with her and saw some progress. She’s smart.  Foster notes - She’s amazing! Definitely a lap dog, she’s only about 10 lbs, so it’s easy to have her in my lap all the time. I bathed her and she’s allowed me to clip away the matting in her fur. She’s bubbly and sweet. No accidents so far, does her business outside but I have to go outside with her. Handles the crate well. Gets along with my dog. She will do well in just about any household.  They were rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas.Meet and greets are by appointment only.  An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events! We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time.  When we do, it will be updated here.  This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above.  Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance.  We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect).  Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico.  While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.   More questions?  Read our FAQs here: https://4p4l.org/faqs/  Breed labels are a "best guess" by a shelter veterinarian and cannot be guaranteed.
