Meet Leo! Leo is a sweet, 4-year old neutered male gray and white gentleman who has been through more than any cat should have to endure. When Leo arrived at the shelter, he was emaciated and struggling to survive outside. We may never know how he ended up on his own, but it was clear that he was not doing well and desperately needed someone to give him a chance. Thankfully, Leo found his way into one of our loving foster homes, where he was given the time, patience and care he needed to heal--not just his body, but his heart, too. Little by little, Leo regained his strength and leanred that he was safe, loved, and cared for. Now, Leo is ready for the next chapter of his story; a forever home where he can finally be the king of his castle.Leo is happiest in a quiet, low-key home where he can settle into a predictable routine with his person. And he is very serious about his routines! Each morning in his foster home, Leo would greet his foster with adorable little chirps, ready to let them know it was time to start the day. He is a chatty boy who isn't afraid to share his throughts, especially when something important--like breakfast--is on the agenda! Speaking of breakfast, Leo is a bit of a food snob. His preferred dining experience is wet food with plenty of gravy mixed with his dry food. After all he's been through, we think he's earned the right to have some opinions about the menu.Leo enjoys playtime and the settling in for a good, well-earned nap. He loves haveing a routine with his person and will do best with an adopter who appreciates the comfort and security that consistency can provide. Leo can sometimes become overstimulated, so he is looking for a cat-savvy adopter who understands feline body language and respects his cues and boundaries. He doesn't need someone to push him beyond his comfort zone. He needs someone who will listen to him, give him space when he asks for it, and allow trust to grow at his own pace.For Leo, the perfect home isn't necessarily the busiest or most exciting one. It's a peaceful place where he can feel safe, have his routines, enjoy his favorite meals, play, nap and share his lttle chirps with someone who loves hearing them. After everything Leo has overcome, he deserves a life where he never has to wonder where his next meal--or his next safe place to sleep--will come from.
