Selene (A143036) is a 10-month-old Cane Corso x lab mix who weighed over 60 lbs at intake!08/08/26 This big sweetheart is Selene! Selene was brought to the shelter with her buddy Ares because a change in their previous owner's work schedule left little time for the dogs. Selene has been known to bark at strangers, but she was said to do well with humans of all ages once introduced. Selene was also said to do well withcats, small animals, and livestock. It is unclear how she feels about other dogs. While she previously lived with another dogs, Ares was the only other dog she had interacted with prior to arriving at the shelter. We encourage her next owners to use caution and make sure introductions are done in a slow and controlled manner to allow for the best possible outcome. Selene may know some basic commands, such as sit and stay. However, she refused to perform for care staff on intake, even when they brought out the good treats! She may need some help with her basic obedience and potty training. She was said to be kennel trained, but she has been known to be vocal and play roughly. While at the vet it was noted that Selene has some doggy acne and should be fed out of a stainless steel bowl and that it should be washed frequently.
