Description

Hey Everyone, I’m Poppy, a 2-year-old orange and white spayed French Brittany searching for my Forever Home! Poppy was surrendered to NBRAN along with 9 other Brits by their previous owner who could no longer care for them due to an overwhelming series of personal hardships. Because of this, we don’t know much about Poppy' past, but it’s clear she hasn’t experienced life as a typical family companion.  Poppy is currently in a wonderful foster home in Central Pennsylvania and is a sweet girl with a lot of energy and a lot of potential. Poppy is still learning to trust people.  She can be shy and timid when first meeting new people, causing her to because anxious. Poppy is also not a fan of loud noises, like the vacuum cleaner, changes to her regular routine, and car rides make her extremely anxious. When Poppy feels anxious or stressed, her first instinct usually is to run for comfort to her foster mom or bark. Poppy also likes to chew things like hard bones and toys. If those are not available Poppy will find other not so appropriate things (clothes, furniture etc…) to chew on.  Poppy’s fosters say she’s has made progress however her fear/anxiety of change and/or new things will probably always be a part of her character. Her new family must be willing to understand this, as well as know that it cannot be completely overcome. However, they can support her by providing the time, patience, security, and love she deserves. Poppy will thrive best in a home that is calm and quiet, as well as, can provide her with the structure and routine she needs to feel safe. She will need a secure physically fenced in yard in her new home along with at least 1 other doggy playmate. Poppy is up to date on vaccine, heartworm negative, spayed, micro chipped and crate trained. Poppy is almost house trained. She does well on leash and comes consistently when called, but most of all she deserves a place of her own to call Home Forever!    Could that be your home? If so, please consider filling out an application for Poppy online at: https://nbran.org/adopt/adoption-application. Once your application is submitted the coordinator in the State where you reside will follow-up with you. Need to reach your State Coordinator, find their contact information here https://nbran.org/about/state-provincial-coordinators Poppy's adoption fee is 400.00 which will help NBRAN cover the vetting costs and other expenses associated with bringing Britts like Poppy back to good health and readying them for adoption. Don't live in PA or close by, No Problem!  NBRAN also has a wonderful transport team willing to help bring Britts like Poppy to their new family, up to 1400 miles with the adoptive family being responsible for the last 100 miles, at no additional fee. Still have questions?
