Description

Hi!  My name is Scout (like the little girl in "To Kill a Mockinbird") and I am looking for a forever home.  Me and my friend Tink had a home along with several other dogs but our owner had to move somewhere she couldn't take us.  She was able to find homes for most of us but then ran out of time fo rme and Tink so asked a small local rescue about taking us in.  A volunteer with that rescue then contacted BCAA to see if they could help us and they said yes!  Tink has already found a home and now it's my turn.  I weigh a little over 7lbs and I'm about 20months old so I am not expected to get any bigger.  When I first came into foster I was really, really scared and just wanted to hide and didn't want anyone to pick me up; but my foster mom was patient with me  and now I just light up when I see her and will jump into her arms.  While I'm still learning to trust my foster dad, I am slowly coming around to him but I do seem to do better with females.  I have gotten along with all of the other small dogs I have met and even eat side-by-side with my friend Tink with no issues; I haven't bothered those things called cats.  I have done pretty good in my crate without any accidents, barking tearing up of any bedding; however, once I have decided you are my person, I would prefer to be out with you.  I probably have never had a leash on and due to me being spooked easily, a securely fenced yard would be best for me in order for me to take care of my business.  If you would like to meet me, please fill out an application which can be found at www.bcaaofnj.org.
