Meet Pistachio! Pistachio is a 10 lb bundle of personality with an adorable little strut and a heart that just wants to be close to his people. Whether he is sitting in your lap, following you from room to room, or snuggling under the blankets, this sweet boy is happiest when he is by your side.Like any young puppy, Pistachio is still working on house training and is making steady progress. He settles in his crate after a few minutes, especially with a Kong and a little peanut butter, and should be crated when left home alone. He is accustomed to spending up to four hours in his crate while his foster is at work.Pistachio loves going for walks, rides comfortably in the car, and spends his days playing with his foster’s dogs. He also lives peacefully with two cats and is mostly content to ignore them. New people and animals can make him nervous at first, but he warms up quickly when introductions are handled patiently.Having other dogs around brings Pistachio out of his shell, so he needs another confident dog in his new home. A canine companion will help him feel secure and continue building confidence.Pistachio has a wonderful mix of puppy playfulness and cuddle time. After playing and walking, he is happy to sleep for hours. He loves chew toys, stuffed toys, peanut butter Kongs, sitting on laps, and burrowing under blankets. If he gets bored, he may find something inappropriate to chew, so plenty of puppy-safe toys will help keep him busy.This affectionate little shadow is looking for a patient family that will introduce him to new experiences at his own pace and continue guiding him with kindness and consistency. In return, Pistachio will bring plenty of snuggles, playful moments, and personality to his forever home. This dog is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. (Please note: Puppies under 3 months old may not be sterilized prior to adoption. It is likely both parents were mixed breeds as well. Sandy Paws Rescue does not have a public shelter in Massachusetts. Our dogs reside in private foster homes or boarding kennels in the South until adopted.
