* This dog will be at the Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, August 15th from 12–3 PM (unless adopted prior to the event). All DPS Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, flea/tick treated, and microchipped prior to adoption.   Adoption fee: $650 Robin Hood 15 lbs of charm, mischief & merry-making   Meet Robin Hood, a pint-sized outlaw with a heart of gold and a serious weakness for couch cuddles.   Rescued from the shelter with his buddy Little John, Robin is a 10–12 month old, 15-pound terrier mix who has traded the forest for the good life— and honestly, we don't think he's looking back. His favorite activities these days include following his people around like a tiny sheriff, making new friends, going for walks, playing with his stuffed lion and Lamb Chop, and claiming a prime spot on the couch.   Robin has come a long way since arriving in his foster home. At first, the world was a little overwhelming, but this clever little guy has discovered that people are pretty wonderful. Now he's confident, silly, affectionate, and always excited to see his humans. If you leave the room, Robin's internal GPS kicks in and he's likely to follow. He doesn't necessarily need to be on you— sometimes he'll happily sprawl on the floor nearby— but he'd really prefer to be wherever the action is.   And Robin has social skills worthy of Sherwood Forest. He does well with visitors and is friendly with new people. He recently went on a downtown adventure and handled it like a champ, happily visiting stores and enjoying a pup cup. The first lick made his eyes go wide with wonder, and then—well, let's just say the evidence disappeared very quickly.   Robin is a playful little guy with a moderate amount of terrier energy. He'd love a family who will take him on a daily walk or two and give him plenty of opportunities to explore. He's a nice leash walker, doesn't pull, and isn't particularly interested in chasing squirrels. He does notice other dogs and may offer a little "hello!" bark when one passes, but people are much more exciting to him.   He's also recently discovered that toys are treasure. His stuffed lion and Lamb Chop are currently among his most prized possessions, although he's still learning that toys are meant to be shared with the humans rather than simply admired.   At home, Robin is about 95% house trained and crate trained. He sleeps in his crate overnight and stays there when his foster family leaves the house. He may have a brief protest at first, but settles down after a few minutes. His foster family is also working on transitioning him toward sleeping in a dog bed. He's low-shed and lives happily with two small dogs, enjoying their company while remaining much more interested in hanging out with the humans.   Robin's ideal kingdom? A home where he can get some exercise, play, explore, and spend lots of time with his people. He's an eager-to-please little guy who gets attached easily and truly enjoys being part of a family.   He's sweet. He's silly. He's curious. He's affectionate. He's got just enough terrier sass to keep things interesting.   And while Robin Hood may have once been known for stealing from the rich, this Robin has a different specialty:   Stealing hearts.   Consider yourself warned.
