Feb. 18, 2026 Zuri’s fostering is going great, and it’s only Day 8!! She slept for the first three days, and ventured out of her crate on her own after five days. She soon discovered a comfy spot on the sofa next to her humans! Tasty treats and a house leash are helping her  learn to come, instead of dodging. She is housebroken (scratches at the door and whimpers to go out), and walks like a champ on the leash. She gets spooked by wind and people who get too close, but she gets a lot of positive feedback and encouragement to be brave. She doesn’t mind having her paws washed after walks, and even tolerates the bathtub! She ignores the two cats in the house, shows no interest in squirrels in the park, and enjoys classical music while her humans are out for a few hours. She has not barked yet, and sheds very little—such a perfect little house guest! Considering how timid she was in the shelter, she has really come a long way in the past eight days! As she gets more comfortable, she will probably become more food driven and playful. Her current fosters can only keep her until the end of February, but she will surely blossom with a family that is patient and positive.    Come meet Zuri.  An adorable dog just waiting for a loving home.  She was rescued from Memphis Animal Services where she gave birth to 8 puppies!  Zuri takes time to warm up but once she does she's sweet.  She would love a foster home so she can learn to trust humans.
